Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her initial performances on Broadway include in the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. in You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film will be released as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is set to return in 2023 and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the nation's first impeachment proceedings during the Over 100 Years. Two seasons ago, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. The role she played as Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver & raised there.
